Probably the only city with loving nicknames is Johannesburg. South Africans very affectionately term it as Jozi, iGoli, Joni, Jo’burg or Joeys. However, due to the increase in crime rate most of the malls and shops were shifted away to the northern suburbs. Hence, Johannesburg might come across as a dull city. The Castle of Good Hope was built between 1666 and 1679 and is the oldest surviving building in South Africa. Today the monument houses the famous William Fehr Collection of historic artworks, the Castle Military Museum and ceremonial facilities for traditional Cape Regiments and it is also the regional headquarters of the South African Army in the Western Cape. One can enjoy a Cable Car ride to the top of Table Mountain; one can also try climbing if one wishes to. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve was declared a nature reserve in 1939, it is located at the tip of the Cape Peninsula, the place is famous for the Cape Point, the farthest tip of the Cape Peninsula. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve incorporates a 40 kilometers of coastline and is part of the larger Table Mountain National Park.
