Daman

- The magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Pashupatinath is situated about 5 kilometres north-east of the Kathmandu city amidst several other shrines on the right bank of River Bagmati. This temple is regarded as the guardian spirit and the holiest of all Lord Shiva shrines in Nepal. The present architectural nature of this sacred shrine came into existence as a result of renovation by queen Gangadevi during the Shivasimha Malla monarchical era between 1578 AD-1620 AD. The best time to visit this temple is on the 11th day after the full and new moon each month.
- One of the most sacred places in Nepal is the Swayambhunath temple in its capital city of Kathmandu wholly dedicated to the religion of Buddhism. It is colloquially known as the ‘monkey temple’ because of the large herd of monkeys guarding the shrine. This temple proudly stands on the top of the hill in the middle of the Kathmandu valley and the structure of the Swayambhu is the most popular and instantly recognizable symbol of Nepal. This temple is also believed to be having four eyes that are believed to be the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha perfectly facing the four directions.
- Another popular tourist attraction is the huge stupa of Boudhanath which lies to the eastern part of the city. It is believed to be the largest stupa in Nepal and also the largest in the world.
