Spend some time on the bike before
I know this is a dumb entry but you would be amazed how many people spend almost no time on the bike then go for a trip. Make sure you have biked at home so you know what you are getting yourself into.
Plan you trails and hostels
One of the most popular ways to travel is to bike from hostel to hostel. If you are going to be doing this figure out how many miles you are comfortable doing each day, the time you have and what you want to see. This will help you to plan you best itinerary for your biking adventure.
Know where you will get a bike
If you are a big time rider then you will probably bring your own bike on plane or train, depending on how you come, but if you are an average Joe then you will need to plan out where you will be getting your bike. Amsterdam is a great place to rent them as they have a lot of options so this would be a good first place to look.
Speak the langauge
While there are different languages in the country, in most places you will be able to decently communicate with English or German. If you don’t know either then make sure to pick up a book of common phrases.
