Manali, his own name leaves a romantic impression in the mind of every Indian traveler. Manali, a national honeymoon Destination that has always impressed travelers, has a relaxed atmosphere and many natural elements to attract the attention of any retired researcher. Green landscapes, snow-capped mountains, scenic spots and various adventure destinations make Manali a favorite among travelers. In addition, the availability of all the key facilities needed to improve the comfort level of travelers makes Manali an ideal place for family vacations. Therefore, if you are looking to spend your long-awaited vacation in one of the major mountain resorts in India, Manali should be your first choice. Here is a list of things to do in Manali, to tell you everything you need to enjoy on a family outing in Manali.
Top 10 hotspots in Manali
- Explore the Buddhist monasteries
The relationship between the Buddhist monasteries and the Indian Himalayas is certainly very intense and I prefer to explore the variety of monasteries present in their drawings. Himachal is home to some surprisingly beautiful monasteries, such as Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa and Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa, which attracts every traveler in the world. If you just want to spend the afternoon participating in some tourist activities in Manali, I think these monasteries should be your choice.
- Pay your homage to the temple of Hadimba.
Although the Mahabharata describes Hirimba as a demon, the people of Himachal consider her a goddess and worship her. And this is the most surprising fact that attracts most foreigners to this temple. This wooden temple is located in a serene environment surrounded by lush cedar vegetation. The details on the wooden doors and walls are striking and add to the simple and peaceful atmosphere of this temple. Also popular in this region: Mumbai and Ahmadabad.
- Zorbing in the Solang Valley
Manali is a tourist destination for all seasons, unlike some of the main tourist sites of the Himalayas. Although winter is the perfect time to play with snow in Manali, summer proves to be the perfect opportunity to take refuge in good weather. So, if you go to Manali in the summer, try Zorbing in the Solang Valley. Believe me, there is nothing better than being stuck in a huge balloon and rolling through the hills without even having a clue where the ball is going. The amount of chills, joy, laughter and screams that you will enjoy during this time is obviously unprecedented.
- Paragliding in Solang Nullah
Paragliding is perhaps the next adventure activity that any brave and loving family would like to practice. And there is no better place to fly in paragliding in Manali than Solang Nala. Therefore, I suggest you plan accordingly so that you can enjoy Zorbing and paragliding in one place.
- Rafting in Pirdi (Rio Beas)
If you are lucky enough to have a jealous family, my suggestion would be to go on an adventure to Manali. And unless you enjoy rafting on the Beas River in Pirdi, I think your adventure trip will be incomplete. The rafting is organized here by several private tour operators and starts from Pirdi to Jhiri. It is a stretch of 14 km that offers exciting rapids and gives you enough adrenaline.
- Trekking in Beas Kund
Wait and breathe! Do not worry while listening to the word “Trek”. I do not suggest you choose the one you can not do with your family. The walk to Beas Kund is undoubtedly an easy walk and believe me, a minimum level of physical condition is enough to make this walk. Beas Kund is about 14 km from the valley of Solang and will need 2 to 3 days to complete this trekking expedition. The highest altitude of this hike is approximately 3690 m, and you will have to deal with most of the problems crossing some streams found along the way.
- Visit to the temples of Jagatsukh.
If you are in Himachal and you have not seen their temples, I can say that you missed something really lovely. As you will be in Manali with your family, I suggest you make at least one instant trip to Jagatsukh, located about 6.5 km south of Manali.. The quiet and composed location and the panoramic view add to the beauty of this temple. The main attraction of this town is the temple of Shiva, which was built around the eighth century. The buses that connect Manali with Jagatsukh take between 20 and 30 minutes to get to this temple. However, if you have time, try visiting the Gaurishankar Temple, located in the village of Dashal.
- Try the local wine
Forget about the conventional routine that you used to follow during the travel period when you used to end your family trip simply by sightseeing. This time, you and your family should try to savor the local wine available at different liquor stores. Available in different flavors such as grapes, apples, plums and apricots, these wines are produced locally and are not harmful to you or your best medium (do not exclude children). I suggest you try the rhododendron wine that is available in the Manu market. When you enter the Manali market, there is a small store that sells this wine produced by the government. Therefore, try to find out.
- Go skiing in the Solang Valley
I know that it is not always possible to go crazy when traveling with your children and better. But, I think if both are bold enough, just try it. Go skiing in the valley of Solang and you will get the best of this adventure activity. The valley of Solang is on the way to the Rahtang Pass and appears as an ideal place to ski in winter through the thick snow cover on the giant slopes of the mountains.
- Store in the Manu market.
No matter where you are spending your vacation, you should always go and explore the local market without fail. So, if the next time you’re in Manali, be sure to explore the Manu Market which is on Mall Road. I will not say you’ll get anything out of the box, but yes, you can try to find some shawls or sweaters from local suppliers. Also, if you like craft items, check out the items sold in the Painters Den Art works.
