Daman

Daman is approximately 80 km southwest of the Kathmandu and halfway between Kathmandu and Hetauda, the place is famous as it provides unimpeded view of the entire Himalayan range. The place is a quiet little village but visitors can engage in activities such as Rock climbing, cycling and hiking here also there is a Tibetan monastery here to see.

Pokhara

Pokhara is in central Nepal and is the third largest city in Nepal, the city lies 198 km west of Kathmandu and is considered as one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Pokhara is popular amongst hikers and trekkers as it is the starting point for most of the treks in the Annapurna area. Pokhara is rich in natural beauty and is often referred to as Switzerland of Nepal the place has thick forests, gushing rivers, emerald lakes and breathtaking landscapes.

• Phewa Lake, also called Fewa Lake is one of the most beautiful places in Nepal, it is the second largest lake in Nepal, the lake is famous for the reflection of Mount Machapuchare on its surface, also The Barahi Temple is situated on the island located in between in the lake.
• Mahendra cave is located on the northern end of the Pokhara city in Batulechaur; it is a 10 minute drive from Chipledhunga the central market place of the Pokhara, the cave is named after Late King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.
• Devi’s Falls is unusual as it plunges into a deep canal and disappear into the earth, the falls are names so in memory of a tourist named David who fell and died here.
• Sarangkot is a good place for a small trek and it offer great view of Himalayas and Pokhara, also the sunset and sunrise from here are eye pleasing.

Visit Kathmandu

The capital city of Kathmandu is nestled in the lap of the gorgeous Himalayan range. • Durbar Square in the city of Kathmandu is the largest of the palace squares in the three royal cities. It is designated by the UNSCO as a protected cultural asset. This palace built in the ancient times alone covers an area three times the size of the precincts in Patan and Bhaktapur. The old royal palace popularly known as Hanuman Dhoka is clustered around the central Durbar Square. Some 50 temples and monuments of varied shapes, sizes, styles and beliefs are situated here. Here one will also find the ‘Kumari Bahal’ or the house of the living Goddess Kumari and the ‘Kastamandap’, which is a house built out of a single tree from which the name of the city was derived.
• The magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Pashupatinath is situated about 5 kilometres north-east of the Kathmandu city amidst several other shrines on the right bank of River Bagmati. This temple is regarded as the guardian spirit and the holiest of all Lord Shiva shrines in Nepal. The present architectural nature of this sacred shrine came into existence as a result of renovation by queen Gangadevi during the Shivasimha Malla monarchical era between 1578 AD-1620 AD. The best time to visit this temple is on the 11th day after the full and new moon each month.
• One of the most sacred places in Nepal is the Swayambhunath temple in its capital city of Kathmandu wholly dedicated to the religion of Buddhism. It is colloquially known as the ‘monkey temple’ because of the large herd of monkeys guarding the shrine. This temple proudly stands on the top of the hill in the middle of the Kathmandu valley and the structure of the Swayambhu is the most popular and instantly recognizable symbol of Nepal. This temple is also believed to be having four eyes that are believed to be the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha perfectly facing the four directions.
• Another popular tourist attraction is the huge stupa of Boudhanath which lies to the eastern part of the city. It is believed to be the largest stupa in Nepal and also the largest in the world. It is also regarded as the prime religious centre for Nepal’s considerable population of Tibetan refugees. One can also find several beautiful monasteries around this area at walking distances.
• This market place in Kathmandu never seems to sleep and is always packed with buyers, sellers and passers-by. Six roads meet to make this interesting corner the busiest junction in Nepal. This is also regarded as the home of Goddess Annapurna and every morning fresh fruits and vegetables are carried to this popular old junction.
• This is the most famous street of the Kathmandu city since the old hippie overland days of the late 60s and early 70s. During those time this street used to be the busiest place for cheap hotels, hashish shops, colorful restaurants and the weird and wonderful freaks from whom the place derived its’ name. The color of this place still retains its old flavor and welcomes the tourists with an evergreen spirit.
